How long has House Pals been in business?
House Pals is a registered woman-owned & operated business. It is owned by Vickie Vasiloudis and began in 1994. We clean both residential and commercial properties.

Is House Pals Licensed and Insured with Liability Insurance and Worker’s Compensation?
Yes, we are and we can provide verification for you. Although all states do not require cleaning persons or businesses to have a business license, it is required by the state of California. House Pals is also listed with the BBB and has an excellent record. We believe it is never safe to allow an unlicensed or uninsured service of any kind into your home or business.

Has House Pals had to make any claims to insurance within the last year?
House Pals is proud to say that we have not had to file any claims as of yet.

Can House Pals provide references from past and existing customers?
Yes we can! Please click on the link to our Yelp! Page on the About Us section of our website. We will also showcase some Customer Testimonials on our website as well.

Does House Pals independently train each employee, and if so what type of training?
Each House Pals employee is trained verbally, given written tests, informed via educational videos, and instructed while on the job.

 

What is the length of time an average employee works for House Pals?
Our average employee typically works 2 to 7 years for us until they decide to go back to school, move away from the area, or start their own businesses.

 

Does House Pals sub-contract any work or use Independent Contractors such as for Carpet Cleaning? If so, is everyone you use licensed and fully insured?
House Pals does have approved affiliates that we work with or can refer to you for services. We work with Professional Organizers, Pet Sitters, Dog Walkers, Property Managers, Waterproofers, Caterers, Window Replacement Technicians, Plumbers, and Commercial Janitorial Services when needed.

 

Will House Pals create a specific written Customer Agreement that includes a list of the services to be completed?
Each customer is unique and we will design a cleaning schedule and checklist to suit your individual needs.

 

Is it required that I sign a service contract with House pals, and does it bind me for a specific length of time?
Not at all. Customers may purchase blocks of time for scheduled cleanings at a discounted rate. We offer a discount program for our Pre-Paying VIPs which offers substantial savings on every cleaning.  You will only need to sign our non-compete agreement and an acknowledgment of our policies.

 

Does House Pals have written copies of all their policies?
Yes we do. Please see them linked under the Information & Services Page of our website.

 

What is House Pals procedure or guarantee in the event that I am not satisfied?
Every House Pals employee makes every effort to do each job to our customer's expectations. We strive for nothing less than 110%. We GUARANTEE your satisfaction. After the first cleaning, our crew leaders will ask if you would like to take a walk through your home or business to inspect the work.  It is strongly recommended to all of our customers that they take the inspection walk. If any area has not been cleaned well, please mention it.  Our crew will re-clean the area in question at this time.  If something has been neglected on a scheduled maintenance cleaning, just call our office within 24 hours of the service and we will return to re-clean the area in question as well as take notes to ensure that it does not happen again.

 

How does House Pals determine pricing and what is the average hourly rate?
Pricing is determined through consideration of industry standards, number of employees, project difficulty, and the scheduled timeframe. Please contact us for a free quote.

 

If my home or business takes more or less time to clean than on average, will House Pals adjust my rate?
House Pals will create a plan to fit your schedule and your budget.

 

Do I have to be home during service?
Take the day off and relax!  House Pals will keep keys and alarm codes safe and secure in order to best service our client’s homes or businesses.  

 

Is House Pals pet friendly?
Absolutely!  House Pal crew members care about your whole family. We will always make a point of giving your special pets a little love during each visit (with your “OK” of course).

 

What if I have to skip or cancel my service?
House Pals often runs on a tight schedule. We must require a 24 hour cancellation notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a cleaning. 

 

What if I need some extra tasks or services?
House Pals are here to help!  Just call the day before with your special requests and we will quote you a price for the additional time.  This is ideal for adding oven, refrigerator, or garage cleaning services.

 

Do you take credit cards?
House Pals accepts cash, checks, and all major credit cards.

 

Does House Pals bring the supplies and equipment?
House Pals bring excellent cleaning supplies and experience with them.  If you have any preferred cleaning products or equipment please let us know and we will be happy to use them.

 

Can I set the time and day for my cleaning?
Provide House Pals with your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

 

Do you offer discounts for referrals if I refer you?
We love referrals! The success of House Pals depends on your good word.  We reward customers with 3 hours of free cleaning for anyone they have recommended who also becomes a House Pals customer. There is no limit to the amount of free cleaning you can get!
